INTRODUCTION

International School of Chonburi highlights Community and Kindness among a set of core values within Guiding Statements that also describe a commitment to the fostering of ‘improvement and growth’ and ‘purposeful partnership’.

This policy applies to the collection, use and disclosure of personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act BE 2562 (PDPA).

In order to operate successfully, International School of Chonburi is required to gather personal data for a wide variety of reasons. It is observed to be the Data Controller in accordance with Thai law and, as such, it is required to ensure that personal data is:

  • Collected in a fair and lawful way
  • Used only for the purpose stated at the point of collection
  • Kept secure and held only for as long as is necessary

DATA SUBJECT

The Data Subject is defined as the individual whose personal data is collected, processed and stored by the Data Controller.

The Data Subject has the right to request access, rectify, erase, withdraw consent and restrict the processing of their personal data.

COLLECTION & USE

International School of Chonburi usually receives personal data either from the individual directly, or via their parent or carer. It only collects information that is required to sustain usual and common operational practices associated with the management of an international school.

The range of data collected includes:

  • Contact details
  • Financial information
  • Academic and disciplinary records
  • Employment related information
  • Medical and welfare details

International School of Chonburi ensures that data is collected and processed securely, used exclusively for the purpose defined at the point of collection and stored only for as long as required to fulfil this original purpose.

In some cases, personal data processing is conducted by a third party. These organisations are subject to contractual provisions for the processing of data shared by the school in accordance with this policy.

If there is ever a need to transfer data out of Thailand, the school will request consent from the data subject if it is unsure that the destination country has appropriate data protection measures in place.

Personal data is often used to support the delivery of information.

STORAGE, RETENTION & DISPOSAL

International School of Chonburi retains personal data only for as long as necessary. Access is limited to authorised members of staff for role-defined purposes only. Changes to authorisation levels must be agreed to by the Head of School.

International School of Chonburi reviews the personal data held on an annual cycle, disposing of it when it is no longer required, unless erasure is prohibited by law.

The process of disposal is overseen by the school’s Data Protection Officer.
