History

ISC is a primary school having opened in 2009.

It began with a vision to create an early years school, inspired by the philosophy of Reggio Emilia. Another aspect of that vision was to establish it in as natural a setting as possible so that the transition from home to school would make children feel secure.

Each year, we have proudly opened one more year level and now we have completed our Primary Years.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster a community of active and reflective learners who are informed and confident. They will embrace sustainability and cultural diversity, in order to be successful as they grow in a changing world.

Our Vision

We achieve this by recognizing that children are unique individuals and are valued as such. We are committed to providing a dynamic curriculum where each child can fulfil their potential within a caring, happy and supportive environment. The staff works together with parents to provide our children with skills, knowledge and values that will support them in the global community.

Philosophy

At the International School of Chonburi (ISC) we stress strong relationships among students, faculty, parents and the community. All people involved in ISC have the right and responsibility to share their ideas, their knowledge, and their feelings with each other. The school provides an environment that encourages open communication.

Guiding Principles at ISC

The individuality of each child is recognized and developmentally appropriate activities are provided to best accommodate learning.
Through observation and documentation, teachers are able to create an appropriate curriculum that is driven by children’s interests and includes learning in the four areas of development: cognitive, language, social/emotional and physical.
Each child has an equal role in the classroom.
Open-ended activities and investigations encourage autonomy in children. When children are given the opportunity to explore their interests, learning is more meaningful.
Through hands-on interactions with the environment, children construct their own theories of how the world works.
Life skills are developed through social interactions.
Appropriate exchanges with teachers, peers and the environment help meet the needs of each child’s emotional well-being, cognitive and physical development.
